I have quit my job, become self-employed and I've no rent or mortgage to pay.

I didn't do it to improve my sense of self worth, I did it because I was bored at my last job.

I don't see why your sense of esteem, self worth, whatever, should be tied up with your job, although obviously it is for many, many people.
