I listened to this album for the first time in ages, while I was driving through the Wicklow Mountains today. It makes a sunny day even sunnier.
Seeing as this is albums to pass on, If you're feeling sinister and Tigermilk should also be noted. One of the most underrated British bands of the last 15 years. I don't include Scotland, as in a recent survey they were voted Greatest ever Scottish band and that's saying something considering the competition.
From The Road. a truely brilliant live album. to the point of "Nothin' but time" being recorded on the tour bus and you can hear the engine in the background, but only just, because production standards matter...
Also :
From MTV unplugged series. There is not one pup on that album and it is generally way better than the new wave style of the studio albums.
Herjia by Joni Mitchell is also sublime (however I associate it with a bad time in my life, so I can't play it now)
Not strictly an album, rather a performence. Reggie Watts delivery is very unique and quite brilliant. Songs start a 3:00, but the intro is, well different.
