Sandy Denny-A Fhir Bhata.(Sandy Denny was the singer who sung on Led Zeppelin IVs Battle of Evermore, she also sung with Fairport Convention)

Fhir a' bhàta, na hóro eile
Fhir a' bhàta, na hóro eile
Fhir a' bhàta, na hóro eile
Mo shoraidh slàn leat 's gach àit' an déid thu

'S tric mi sealltainn on chnoc as àirde
Dh'fheuch am faic mi fear a' bhàta
An dig thu 'n-diugh na 'n dig thu màireach
'S mar dig thu idir gur truagh a tha mi

    Tha mo chridhe-sa briste brùite
    'S tric na deòir a ruith o m' shùilean
An dig thu nochd na 'm bi mo dhùil riut
Na 'n dùin mi 'n doras le osna thùrsaich?

    Yes indeedy!!!

The groundbreaking Elvis Presley large screen Video enhanced Concert will be at the 02 in Dublin in March this year. Who'da thought? .................. Saw it in Memphis where it was first performed August 1997. Joe Jackson was there too. A Young lady from BMG Dublin was with us. She couldn't keep her eyes off Elvis, she told us, after the show.

Well done, Maire, for mentioning Sandy Denny. I grew up with her music and I still love it. Mind you, the 'young generation' in our house comprises my 12-year-old daughter and I can't quite see her becoming the sort of bookish, bespectacled 70s undergraduate in billowy skirts who I recall being the stereotypical Sandy Denny fan (I wonder how many people I've just offended? Sorry). She's still on Planet Bieber at the moment but if it was up to me this is some of the stuff I'd like her to be listening to after I've popped me clogs:

    Trees - On The Shore
Planxty - Either of the first two albums - preferably both.
    Bothy Band - Ditto
Joni Mitchell - Clouds (more guitar playing than on Blue)
    Stevie Wonder - Innervisions
    Aretha Franklin - anything, really
    Matt Molloy - First Album
Dolores Keane - Sail Og Rua
Fotheringay (with Sandy Denny) - First Album
Neil Young - Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere

Problem is, of course, most of this is 70s boy stuff. She's more musical than me anyway.

In Don't Look Back you see how comfortable he is with the reverance, how deserved he think's it. Especially in the scene with the poor science student, and obviously with how he treats Donovan.

I can never excuse an artist because of his/her art, I've met too many of them. He sh@t on a lot of people, none more than the women in his life, he doesn't get a pass just because he's Dylan.

Also, did you see that band on Jools tonight, The Silver Seas? The lead singer doing his best Van Morrisson impression, it was quite annoying!
Alan Price is the real star of that film.
