Not sure how I'd describe it: kind of a sense of family. They come here to work, do so bloody hard, are polite, well-educated, good craic and open to mixing in with things. I find there's a kindred-spirit vibe with those I work with - possible a post-colonial 'Ok we have to go to work anywhere but home but you carry your identity with you' thing. And of course they come from a RCC background so a lot of the mental imagery is directly translatable ('Father Ted' needs absolutely no translation for them) and there's a common subversive/begrudgery attitude to the stuck-up Powerful Neighbours.
