Flying to New York to buy cheap crap made in China instead of flying to Paris to get good stuff in the Printemps sale.

Trucks driven by young shirtless Eastern European guys, thundering through towns in the summer----lots of kitchens to deliver...deadlines, deadlines

    Glass apartment blocks in Leitrim

Dormer windows on nearly every rural new-build

    The Dundrum Shopping Centre

    Gold.

    Bertie.
    SUVs.
    Smugness everywhere.
The proliferation of "marque" cars and their gimp drivers.
The person who told me "you think I'd lower myself to work in Spar, you must be joking".
The fact that nothing was too expensive.

Otherwise known as 'girls' weekends'. Never saw the appeal myself. And until about 15 years ago, 'pampering' was what you did to a child with a bad head cold.

Chick-Lit. (General dumbed down culture, you were not allowed to criticize---Cecelia Ahern, Boyzone, Louis Walsh)
LOL yes! And RiverDance (as my brother called them: RiverHype). If you criticised them in any way you were a 'begrudger' or 'jealous'.
