Lansdowne road redevelopment gets the go ahead

The 6.1 news is reporting that the Lansdowne road redevelopment has gotten the go ahead.

A thing that struck me was they had a interview with a lady who had objected to the development but she seemed completely at a loss as why she was so upset.

The only thing she spoke about was "light", and how her garden was all about light. Now the thing was you could see the end of one of the stands in the background, I'm guessing the West Stand but I could be wrong. It was the bones of 50 to 100 yards away. And currently the west stand is over hanging the DART line and the new stand appears to not be over the DART so it would be further back from her house. The new West/East stands are their highest point at higher than the current stands but they are arched so they're not consistently that height. I have to wonder sometimes if people go looking for things to be upset about.
Dan Sullivan. I was back but we still couldn't all have a vote.

KIngkane - Lucinda will be upset with you. The new Northern stand will tower over that lady's house that she has lived in all her life. She has reason to be upset.

KK, the new stadium is in a different alignment on the same site, and will be very close to houses on O'Connell Gardens which don't currently have a stadium at their back wall.

Having said that, can we keep discussion to the original thread please?
