    It's funny how people get so worked up about this, considering homelessness is barely paid any attention in Dublin.

    This is most unfortunate indeed but let me be realistic about homelessness in general. It can not be eradicated 100% just like we well always have people becoming alcoholics drug addicts and criminal actitivity. All we can do is try our best to keep ourselves on track and so too our family and close friends. This alone can reduce a lot off all these problems.
    Advances in any field are built upon people with the small or personal view.

    They actually deserve less sympathy when you think about it. They were offered repatriation to a country were they had a roof over their heads and a SW system. Dublin's homeless, winos and junkies as you call them, have no hope and no chance, due to mental illness among other things.
