“I’ve never met an Asian who wasn’t racist and pro-Asian first and foremost.” [says GDL/White Master. Akira replies:]

I’m sure that’s your experience; but also it sounds sort of right for the average Asian, except that most Asians don’t even know what “racist” means.

A Japanese woman, in Japan, once asked me: “What does “racist” mean?” [She lit. said "raysisto", since the Japanese word is just a Japanese pronunciation of the English word, which should tell you something.]

I said something like, “Well, it means if you think that different people or nations or populations are somehow different, because of their genetic background, or their culture, or some other observable difference…”

She said, “I don’t understand.” So I more or less repeatedly myself, more slowly.

    Again: “I don’t understand.”

    Me: “What don’t you understand?”

Her: “I mean, what’s the point? Why would anybody make up a word for that?"
The answer is: so that the minority group who invented it, can derive some political advantage from it; of course!

See: foreigners don't think like us; especially liberals.

    kerdasi,

What is scary about that is that people are calling for more repressive laws to shut down debate on immigration.

    That's a lovely source.

It's just unbelievable. Can't a fella use the word n*gger over and over and over again without some do-gooder lefty calling him a racist? It's PC gone mad.

    Yes, you are correct.

My take on the vetting process to enter Ireland is two fold-

    1. Embassy. As Ireland is non Schengen my Asian wife, who has residency in Germany, requires a visa for Ireland (our daughter has Irish citizenship). The helpful and friendly Dept. of Foreign Affairs Embassy staff kindly issued my wife a three month visa as all the papers were in order.

    2. Airport. The Dept. of J official took one look at my wife and stamped her 3 month visa with 13 days to be out of the country. Next!
    !

Return here to live? Short answer I do not know. The means testing process seems aurdious and given past experience, the outcome uncertain.

As for our 12 days we spent in Ireland my wife fell in love the country and the people "warm and caring". Our highlight was going to the Kilkenny County Hurling Final what with DJ being there and all. The GAA Ticket people at Nowlan Park kindly allowed my wife in for FREE! Thanks!

The govt has to be mindful of precedent, Fantasia - especially given the Pakistani-Latvian marriages-for-sale scam uncovered by Jim Cusack in the Independent.

When you're ready, FutureTaoiseach. If you could stick to the point and not start one of your template rants about D4 elites, leftists and PC gone mad, it'll save us both some time.

I fully accept your point Taoiseach.

In our experience this necessary process was indeed diligently performed by the very able DFA staff. If one dept does not trust the other, what chance has the applicant got?

I thought you D4 elites, leftist nuts and PC goons revelled in being called the same-I would have thought you were proud of it no?
