what happened in 1985 that was so noteworthy?
Anyway winning a tournament as insignificant as the 6 nations is hardly a great achievment. Its mainly a game played by a minority within white ex British colonies with above average incomes plus French paysans. Hardly a global game. As such is stands far below soccer, horse racing, dog racing and even baseball.

By the way, I am still seething at the unjust punishment handed out by the Foreign Blazers to Trevor.Maybe this is a sport we should have little to do with.
Could we start a campaign to kick the Rugger-buggers out of Croker until we get justice for the Barnhall 1. Ye can go play in Ravenhill

Now success in a World Cup competition in a sport followed by nearly 1.5bn people, that would be something.

As for Ireland's victory, I hate to say it, but when you score 3 dodgy tries to beat Italy, its hardly a great result.

Anywhere I can find out how the cricket is going, Sky are showing India/Bangladesh
There were two forward tries not three, george Hook's alleged forward pass wasn't so. Also, I personally believe the second Italy try was a double movement. I don't know what match you were watching ROC, Ireland were sensational in the second half. Italy are quite a good side.

No way that France will win by 50 points. It will be touch and go for us, but If scotland can score 10 points in the second half, I think we'll do it. If you are near a TV ROC, go to Aertel for the cricket. P206 I think.
Screw Aertel, checking on BBC sports page

Pakistan are 73 for 6, after 22 overs. Which means Ireland have a chance to actually beat them. Or.. the pitch is slower than a Minardi

Potentially Irelands greatest sporting achievement since 1985 ?

What planet are you on ?

Winning a European Championship in a minority sport ?

QF of the World Cup in Soccer ? Sonia O Sullivan Olympic silver ? Double World Championship Gold in Cross Country ?

    Give me a break Donal
    All over now...
