It should not be an issue, and it wouldnt be with me but sadly it is with an awful lot of people.
You're contradicting yourself from post to post.

An atheist equally may not have. You can't sum these issues up solely by reference to one's religion. Ireland's only nobel prize winner outside of literature and the peace prize is Ernest Walton. Along with John Cockroft, the first man to split the atom. Also a Methodist lay preacher. I suspect he demonstrated an ability to think critically more than most people many of us will come across in our lifetime. Then you have Sarah Palin. These matters are not simplistic.

Its not an issue what religion a politician is, they're either religious or not.

I still think a non religious politician would be more trustworthy than a religious one.

The religion itself doesnt matter to me.

I didn't say they were. I said it would be one indicacation or at least a suggestion that all else being equal thaey are a thinking person. Obviously in the real world you would have other things to evaluate. Whence the scorecard reference

Good to know you don't let prejudice determine how you vote.

Firstly, I think St333ve wants the religious ones branded for ease of identification.

Secondly, St333ve does because he seems to think only Atheists can be good, trustworthy politicians.
