I have only met and spoken to Richard Dawkins for a moment or two and would not be so bold as to make my mind up about him from just reading his books. Or listening to him on TV and radio.

Often people have a wide range of views we do not know of till we really get to know them very well indeed.

We are very complex creatures. That's why this politics board is like it is.

Say for instance we come up with a word for the All of the Universes, then we may have a believable thing that might be seen as a secular belief system?

Anyone got any idea what I am saying?

No, actually I smell your bullsh1t for what it is and now I'm pissing all over the right tree. So your real agenda is trying to prove that theists are fools (leaving you firmly in the anti-theist camp)

    Theists are self proclaimed fools.
That being the case I do not have to prove anything.

Your flame is fluttering, you may find yourself in the warmth of the dark soon enough. Stick around.

A decent astrologer might make a good neighbor.
An odious Atheist would almost certainly make a bad neighbor.
do you write books describing people who believe in Astrology naive fools?
do you give lectures knocking the beliefs of people who believe in Astrology?

Dawkins does want to inflict his views on others, or as he might describe, help raise their level of consciousness.

    you're a hypocrite so,

your happy to make up your mind about all people who believe in God without meeting the tiniest percentage,
yet can't comment on Dawkins who you've studied, listened to and met

I find some of your threads quiet interesting - but you habitually descend to waffle and refuse to answer direct questions which becomes too boring

Sorry paulp, I have met hundreds if not thousands of believers in a God over my 68 years on this planet. Had some great debates with them too.
What direct questions do you refer to? Often some are too silly to reply to.

Dawkins is relatively new on the scene as far as I am concerned. I became an Atheist long before he was heard of.

In fact I think Dawkins is far too easy going and to much of a gentleman too when confronting the religious. Nevertheless I admire his intelligence.

Are you more of a PZ Myers "rusty nail through a communion cracker" kind of a guy?

Have you always been an atheist?

Here's a pick of PZ's bin with the 'violated' communion cracker in the bin. He nailed it to a couple of pages of the Koran. I hope that Jesus got his tetanus shots.

You’re only fooling yourself. You see, unlike you, I was never afraid of the dark, so unlike you, I don’t have to become comfortable with it and accept it, because I always have. You’re an anti-theist pretending to be an atheist. Your insults give you away every time.

I'm not an anti-theist; my GLW is one, and a very committed one too. But I still think that her faith is foolish. What way the kids turn out is going to be interesting!!!

Only a fool believes in something without any evidence for it.
