    Nope.
I didn't seek the Dark. Didn't have to.
    We cannot miss the light.

Neither Hyde nor Jekyll are valid examples of light/dark. That presumes different persons. The Dark is part of one.

If it be truly the Dark as you intimate, one would not be able to envisage that Dark as it would be totally outside of ones purview as it would only exist when one is not. One could not see the Dark as there would be no thing to 'see' it.
The outside viewer could not see it either as they would not be in the Dark of non-existence.

Does one know what is written on the next page of an unread book?
One could extrapolate from what is currently visible but that assumes continuity of 'story'. The next page may be blank, it may continue the story or it may be a completely new story.

The word Dark is just that, not the Dark itself. It's because we use words to portray what the mind thinks. Words are all we have.

The dark side of human beings is well known. No mystery there.

We are always filling in the blanks... or we think we are.
I really do not want to get stuck in Wittgenstein type meanings of words. Or you will still be here in the light, when I'm totally in the Dark.

Maurice, I replied to the first paragraph but you could not comprehend it. This was not through fault of yours or mine but the medium we are currently using to communicate. Letters and words do not convey expression or meaning outside of words. For true comprehension, words plus actions convey meaning, words alone fail often.

Yes, humans have a dark side, as well as the Dark, within them, no real mystery. Unfortunately, that is often willfully ignored because there is the fear that acknowledging that Dark/dark is to give it free rein, when ignoring it is what gives it free rein.

Ah, filling in the blanks. Not what I think is the 'better' way. I cast a net of idea and see what fits and what slips through. If blanks are filled in, it creates a wall.

I think that post will be the last for tonight, every time I go to post, the log in page pops up. Too irritating at this time of night.

    Let's try this.

I think, therefore I was not.
Nor will I be, when I am dead.

The Darkness within us is tamed by a very thin veneer of what we like to call civilisation.

There's nothing wrong with my comprehension, I often ignore stuff that is too obvious besides I'm not that hot on the multi-quoting......as you may have noticed.

Do you recall a time when you didn't have the ability to think?

Civilisation? Nope, civilisation doesn't tame that Dark, it masks it.

Ah, the reply to your first paragraph was an answer that could not be said, but shown through what is called body language. Not 'rude' gestures but psoture, movement, gesture, expression.
The opposite of which is seen in politicians, businessmen, etc. You know the the "joke" question, "When can you tell when a politician is lying? His lips move."? If you watch many politicians speak, the only body part to move is their lips, their body language is shut-off. When speech and body differ, the body is telling true.

Yes, I recall the time I first had a mind but cannot remember the thoughts.. if any before my first thought which remains a mystery too. But that's memory for you.

    Masks, and tames, otherwise.............!
