In my first day at work in dublin, I was asked if I had a "mott". I never heard of the word, and assumed it was some bit of equipment.
Not wanting to look inexperienced on my first day, I shuffled inside my tool bag, and replied, "I must've left it in the house."

In the eighties we always said 'bit of stuff''/
As in 'she's a fine bit of stuff'
'Who's the bit of stuff yer man is with?'

    "Pego".
Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.
