Bhí suas le 5,000 ag mórshiul i mBéal Feirste inné ar son Acht na Gaeilge do na sé contae. Thosnaigh an pharáid ag Culturlann McAdam Ó Fiaich agus ghabh sé síos Bóthar na bhFál, Sraid an Chaisleáín, An Ascail Rioga, chomh fada le Cearnóg na Scríobhnóirí ar Shráíd Dhún na nGall. Ansan bhí oráidí ann ó Ghearóid Mhic Adaim, Shinn Féin, Brid Rodgers, an SDLP, agus Janet Muller ó POBAL, eagraithe an léirsithe.

In ainneoin an slua bheith chomh mór afach, ní dhearna RTÉ nó an BBC áitiúil aon tuairisciú air. De reir dealraimh bhí níos mó ceamraí acu ag an léirisiú a bhí ag Sinn Féin Poblachtach i mBaile Atha Cliath ná mar a bhí leirsitheoiri.

Tuairisc iomlán ar Lá Nua amarach

Up to 5,000 marched in a parade in central Belfast on Saturday for an Irish Language Act for the six counties. The parade set off from the Cultúrlann on the Falls Road, down Castle Street, onto Royal Avenue and concluded at the Writers Square in front of St. Annes Cathedral on Donegall Street. There the crowd heard music from Colaiste Feirste pupils, Ireland's only Irish language reggae band, Bréag, and speeches from SF's Gerry Adams, Bríd Rodgers of the SDLP and Janet Muller of POBAL, the parade organisers.

In spite - or maybe because of - the parade being so well attended, neither RTÉ nor the BBC locally could be persuaded to carry reports on the demontration. Apparently they had more cameras at the protest by RSF at the England V Ireland game in Croke Park than there were demonstrators.

Full report in Lá Nua tomorrow.
