No it isn't. The 'issue' is whether Henry deserves to be labelled a cheat because of this one handball (which nobody has ever denied was deliberate). I do not believe this to be the case. You do. We will have to disagree."Naked" - deliberate handball. Did Keane DELIBERATELY handball? That is the iisue.
As for Keane, whether or not he deliberately handballed on this occasion, I have no doubt whatsoever that he has done so on many occasions. Just as he has called for free kicks and penalties which he knows his team did not deserve. And so on. In other words, he 's no different to any footballer in the world.
As I say, I don't think there's much point continuing to discuss this particular issue. As far as I'm concerned, Henry committed a routine foul - albeit one with devastating consequences for Ireland - but his 'crime' was not in itself a heinous one.The demonisation of him, and the special pleading from the FAI and football gobs***s, has been rather overblown, to say the least.
What is far more intersting to me is how, if at all, this incident reflects on our national psyche. That's much more interesting than comparing the degree of 'deliberation' in Henry's and Keane's handball fouls.
