Oldest artist ever to top UK albums chart

Vera Lynn is back at #1 - at 92 years of age!

(The previous record was held by Bob Dylan, for Together Through Life, earlier this year, at age 67.)

4 of the Beatles re-masters are in the top 10, but not even Sgt. Pepper (#5) could beat Vera.

Here's Vera being interviewed last week on the 70th anniversary of Britain's entry to World War II:

Bloody hell. I thought the 80's revival was pushing it a bit, now this? Oh lawdy....

No I'm off to buy a half pound of bullseyes and run through the cobbled streets with a tyre and stick. Gee whiz bang!

    Grey power on the march!

This phenomenon could have significant political implications in the coming years and decades.

The Medical Card demo here last year was another indicator.

Vera is fantastic. I think the rule is that if Pink Floyd write a song about you you are guaranteed immortality.
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

that is mental... considering the beatles coverage in the media.

i kind of half wonder if its EDL or BNP blokes buying Vera Lynn en masse?

Vera Lynn kept up the spirits of the chaps out in the blue taking a crack at the boche and hoping they weren't blown to blighty.

I guess then that "Brain Damage" from DSOTM was a prophetic effort relating to Mary Coughlan.
