A lot of the same guys are going again. Labour have 4 candidates 2 new candidates going Roisin Lucey and Ronan Sheehan. Cant see them winning 4 seats. Sinn Fein are running 2 candidates Fine Gael running 4 and Fianna Fail have three going the 2 sitting councillors and Roy willis. There might be a couple of independents too.
So what are people's predictions.
Id say Fianna Fail wont do great.
Labour have a good following usually here but cant see them getting 4.
Id say 2 fianna fail 3 labour 3 fine gael and one sinn fein.
oreagan sinn fein could bring in a second sinnfein with good vote management

Thats the results from the last local town council elections.
I think it is only Sean Sherlock and Jack Tierney out of the nine that wont be going this time.
I presume Sean Sherlocks big vote will most likely be spread across the labour party.
I would also say that alot of Fiana Fails vote will go to Fine Gael if you look at the way transfers have gone recently.
Does the person make a difference or are people just voting for the candidate?
I always go for the person but of ourse if you ont agree with the poliics of the party then it is dificlt to support them.
I would find it very difficult to vote for a Sein Fein candidate.
Lived in Mallow up to 6 months ago so still know abit about the town.
Labour are running 2 new candidates along with 2 of the 3 sitting councillors. Sean Sherlock topped polls last time but the Sherlock vote is more personal (due to his fathers political history). Labour this time cant rely on these votes as alot of this vote will possibly go to Sinn Fein. I feel they are losing possibly their strongest councillor David O'Callaghan, whom I'm being told is not standing due to personal reasons and also the town has two cummann whom appartently don't see eye to eye and two of the new candidates are pratically next door neighbours.
Fine Gael are running 4 candidates, 2 new along with the 2 sitting councillors. They should hold their existing 2 seats.
Sinn Fein are running 2 candidates. 1 New. Their new candidate is Stella O'Sullivan and maybe the suprise seat. She is well know locally and is involved is quite a few good voluntary orgainisations including YANA which is a support group for women involved in domestic abuse. Willie O'Regan will certainly hold his seat as he has done good work locally.
Fianna Fail have 3 Candidates. 1 New. Dan Joe Fitzgerald should hold his seat as he is quite popular among business people, David Willis may struggle to keep his.
Don't know yet about any independents but this election may bring quite a few surprises for independent canditates
I heard there is some independant guy called Bottles.
Does anyone know anything about him.
Is David Willis that guy with the painting show on TG4.
Dont really rate him.
What about Richard Dempsey or Jerry Mullaly losing there seats.
They were at the bottom of the pile last time around.
Have not heard much from them to be honest.
Sorry don't know any independents yet.
David Willis is the quy on TG4. I think he will have difficulty in holding seat as I havn't really heard of anything much in the last few years from him. As I said Dan joe will probably hold seat but FF may lose seat this time round
Richard Dempsey seems a nice quy but didn't poll very well last time round and again hasn't done major changes while elected.
Jerry Mullally polled quite bad last time but maybe relying on Sean Sherlocks votes to win him over. He is also running for County this time and have heard Labour had just introduced another candidate for county which has caused some conflict within the party. All this can't help labour as the dogs on the street are well aware on their internal problems within the town cummans.
Vlad The Impaler was the original stakeholder!
If Sean Serlock isn't running this time i think sf and fg will pick up most of the votes that went to him last time, given the problems within Lalour and the unpopularity of ff
