Youghal Town Council - Elections 2009

Two years out at this stage what are your thoughts - who will be the winners and losers ? Who is running, who is performing, who is not etc.

depends on who they are are, what their issues are, whether they are a party candidate or not and where in Youghal they live

Does anybody know why Sandra Mclellan was selected to run in the GE rather than Martin Hallinan?

Picking young, realtively attractive, female candidates seemed to be a Sinn Fein policy in the last election.

Or maybe, in the knowledge that a seat wasn't likely to happen, they opted to raise the profile of their most vulnerable councillor.

Hallinan is a member of Cork CC and would have been known to the electorate. I think SF made a mistake in opting for McLellan.
