Midelton Town Council - elections 2009

Two years out at this stage what are your thoughts - who will be the winners and losers ? Who is running, who is performing, who is not etc.

Cork is a big place, if I put enough lines in the river - I'm bound to get a bite somewhere.

Billy Buckley, Ken Murray, and Niall O'Neill (all FF) should be OK Mary Woods(FG) is talking about retiring so Connie Walsh should take her seat. Christy Carr nearly got in last time and
will be battling again. Kinouki Olagmbi is doing great work in the soccer club and will give it a lash as will Janicki Scowolski

The 3 FF lads should all be alright. Gina Hennessy should be too. Talk is that Margaret Trundle is not going to run again for FG and Mary Woods may call it a day. Some talk in FG about Connie Walsh running and Killian O'Sullivan being promoted by Kathleen Woulfe the ex Mayor.

Mary Woods is running again it seems. FG are still waiting for Margaret Trundle to decide and word is that this O'Sullivan guy is definitely preparing for a serious bid with the support of the local notables in FG.

Why Fianna Fail? Last time out, they got all their candidates elected, so they'll need to run more anyway.

With Labour seatless, but only missing the last seat by 6 votes last time out, surely they will have ambitions for the seat.

Well these fine elected councillors are taken 19 people and themselves out to wine and dine, along with a mixture of builders and civil servants, at a time when for the last two/three weeks the traffic lights in the middle of the town are broken, so a big thanks to Poor Paddy for letting the people know were priorities are in the town!
