lol, every one has a chance, but Ms Heffernan has already made a 'Bo Bo' .
    Ok I'll call it 3 FG, 2FF, 1lab, 1 Green, 1SF and 1 Independent( Billy Lynch) .

    What was Heffernan's 'Bo Bo'?
(Is that spelling significant or should it be 'Boo Boo'?)

Fianna Fail has three: Cllr. Darren Cotter, Cllr. Micheal Frawley and Nicky Searls.
Labour has two: Cllr. Tomas O' Brien and Tony Ceirns
    Greens: Cllr. Isabelle Sutton
    Sinn Fein: Noel Harrington
Non Party: Cllr. Billy Lynch, Cormac Hayes and Irene Heffernan

Two of the existing members Mary Evans and Charles Henderson are not standing .

Fianna Fail could well buck the national trend here because Fine Geal blocked a bid by Lidl to open a shop in the town, while the Fianna Fail members supported the Lidl application. A lot of the town’s people were incensed at the decision, so Fianna Fail could profit as could Cllr O' Brien and Lynch.

Other local issue include the failure by Department of Education to grant funding to the proposed extension for the secondary school, along with the controversial proposed transport plan for Kinsale.

Transfers here have always been crucial and will this time too. Charles Henderson, who topped the poll on the last occasion, is ineligible to run. His vote could change the whole dynamic of the Council on polling day.

A hard election to call, but Cllr Lynch, Cllr. O Brien, Cllr Sutton, Cllr. Collins, and Cllr Cotter should be safe. Cllr. Frawley and Cllr. Treacy may well just fall over the line. If I was a betting man, Terry Connolly and Tony Ceirns should take a seat each. However, Harrington or Searls could be a surprise package.
    Right then, you gambler you!
    How's this?
    Fine Gael - 2
    Fianna Fail -2
    Labour - 2!!
Independent - 3!! Heffernan, Sutton and Lynch.
Remember where you read it first!!

    Ah now...be nice!
To dismiss Bernie Murphy (R.I.P.) as a ' Drunken, abusive moron' is uncharitable, to say the least. The man (and his team) invigorated local politics!! Made it interesting for the common man.
While he may have been someone else's stooge, there have been and still are, a lot worse, still in politics that masquerade as decent people!
With Bernie, what you saw was what you got! (wysiwyg, to the less knowlegeable!!)
You might do well to remember that there are and will always be, greater and lesser people than ourselves...at all times!
    And...lighten up! Life's too short.

    Correction

Isabelle Sutton is a member of the Green Party and not an Independent. Terry Connolly and Noel Harrington could take a seat. I see two of the Cllrs have gone off with the rugby club to America. Cllr O' Brien and Frawley very confident hmmmm???? Boys and Girls are we saying Hayes has no chance? Bit of a GA connection there( am not talking about Ahern) - you'd never no. Transfers coul be criticial/ crucial. Who will top the poll.
    Tomas O Brien 1/1
    Dermot Collins 2/1
    Billy Lynch 3/1

    Any one got an opinion?
Except the Independent, who has a crush on Carmel Murphy, maybe that's why he's a tosser!!!!

Hey Fellows! Let's have a bit of order here!
What's all this 'Langer' & 'Tosser' stuff about??
Why not drop the Carmel Murphy thread? It's hardly relevant.
What about putting all this anger into questioning the integrity of some of the older candidates? The suggestion that there are safe seats should be dismissed, given the climate. Fianna Fail should get pasted on every doorstep, regardless of pedigree.
Fine Gael are not much better...don't they have a candidate that went public about high jinks over the Rugby Sevens some years ago. just to further his own 'concerned citizen' profile?? Isn't he the same gentleman that caused a stir some years ago too, almost insulting Jean Kennedy Smith with inapproptiate comments during a 'welcome' speech?
At least there's a job to be had as speechwriter whenever that idiot's in the Mayor's seat. Surely we can do better than insult people that are no longer candidates???

I agree. Lets get the people of Kinsale involved in this debate. Surely, Lidl is the smoking gun for FG?

I am ignorant of what happened on Lidl, tell me what the nitty gritty of the story is.
