    Public Park

Hi to all, as a councillor in the area, the creation of a basic park with grass is very near completion plus areas for a number of pitches. It has taken time to cap the site (a foot of topsoil across 170 acres) A development plan for the park is due before the City Council in autumn time. Much of the money needed to create the park has been attained over the last number of years. We just need a decent development plan in place now. I reckon sometime next year, the city's newest public park will be open to the general public.

Cool beans. I lived in Dublin for a couple of years and the foresight of the people there was impressive. There were numerous parks within a mile of where I lived, proper ones, not just football pitches with a tarmac path: Bushy Park, Marley Park, Rathfarnham Wood.
There will be people like myself, not a lot of money, but would be delighted to sponser a tree or two and even plant it.
Then let most of the area go wild with pathways meandering around it.
Fr. Collins park in Dublin was, imho, over the top and seemed to use more concrete than planting.
    Spent a fortune on bling.

I imagine the hill that exists in the ex-dump now will sag over time and the place will end up level?
We could do with amenities on the north side. Even some trees woud be nice.
TECHNOCRACY NOW! If you really don't like Murdoch's methods, keep the dish but get rid of the Sky box
