Barry is straight out of FG central casting. Big landowner, farmer and business man.

Barry may well take votes from Sherlock, but not to such an extent that Sherlock's seat is under threat as a result.

The only way it would really hurt Labour would be if Barry takes votes from Mulvihill, and I don't think that's going to happen.

O Driscoll is crazy if he really thinks he has a long term political career in Fine Gael.County Councillor I'd imagine would be the summit of a political career.Fine Gael are still an extremely conservative political organisation and he'd do well to remember that.
