Perhaps, but we don't vote for comedians. Do you not think he is overdoing the poor quality photo-ops. He keeps demanding stuff gets done, i think he is still in candidate mode, he should be reminded he is a councillor now.

O'Brolochain is working hard, as is Mulholland - both 8 out of 10

Mayor Connolly is causing unnessary friction --5 /10.

O'Brolchain is doing nothing but whinging about everything and offering no alternative - a Green, need I say more?

Donal Lyons, 10/10, hard worker, gets results, most recently secured funding for new National School in Knocknacarra. Tops poll every time.

Niall O'Brolchain Grn: 10/10 Full time councillor, never moans about anything unless he offers a viable solution, thinks things out instead of impulse voting and a nice guy!
Micheal Crowe Ind: Who? He spent €10,000 to get elected and has done what? I think he did it to get more publiclity for his shops, cant wait until he's kicked out in 2009.
Brian Walsh FG:Who? Haven't heard much talk from him, and he reportadly turned down the mayorilty for 2005-2006. Some see him as a future TD, but my money would be on Fidelma Healy Emmes.
Declan McDonnall PD: Cant comment on him if hes done nothing.
Terry O'Flaherty PD:I was at a council meeting and had to listen to her moan about other Cllrs not going to a special mass, the mayor had to tell her to shut up.
Micheal Leahy FF: The grand old man of Galway City Council, he experience is greatly appreciated on the current council.
Daniel Callanan SF: I love him, his complaining really covers up Nialls! He recently has gotten into a scrap with Niall over some stuff, bit of a nob if you ask me [Callanan, not Niall]
Tom Costello Lab: Smart guy, decent enough Cllr.
John Connolly FF: Tipped as a future FF TD, but I dont see of hear much from him.
Billy Cameron Lab: So and so Cllr
    Collette Connolly Lab: As above
Padraic Connelly FG: Means well, but I think he has a rather heavy handed way of trying to get things done. The other Cllrs are trying to ridicule him,but if they out in half the work he dose, them maybe they'ld get better reviews from me!
Donal Lyons PD: Nice guy, but he confuses me. He is chair of the city traders association, but then votes to allow major commercial development on the city outskirts, which will kill Shop St. and the city centre.
John Mulholland FG: So and so Cllr
Catherine Connolly Lab: Her feud with the other Cllrs is damaging Galway. However, it's only partly her fault.

Why is is that the hyped up potential cllrs are the one's who APPEAR do be doing the least amount of work?

Danny is maybe a tad too generous to Niall-which is understandable, you have to defend your own. Callinan seems to be active though a little painful.

Three PDs, the two blokes deserve marks though O'Flathery is cringe worthy at times.

    FG-fair assesement by Danny.

FF-as above but Connolly seems to be very quite. Does he say anything or is it that what he says isn't reported?

Did you mean potential TDs? With the main parties [FG and FF] I think most of their time is spent plotting in dark rooms to get the nomination. Once they get that, they have a good chance of getting elected. With smaller parties [Greens, SF] getting the nomination aint hard so they concentrate on getting public profile, hence they appear more active.
    Code:

As SF Cllrs go he would be considered quite quiet.

Generally local papers will report anything [that's why my letters always get printed  ] so I doubt it's some sort of anti-connolly conspiracy. As I said above, he may be working behind the scenes to steal the nomination from Cox, which he stands some chance of doing. Or prehaps public campaigning isn't his style. He may be using connections with ministers to help out constituencts on a more local level.
