We may have got a clean bill of health from the Troika this week … but we’re far from being out of the woods yet. There are still Budgets ahead when even more cutbacks will have to be made. So what have we to look forward to? Where is the Minister’s axe likely to land? More Welfare cuts?

And don’t forget the banks - they should still be very much on your radar. What about the debt? Will there be new structures in place which will allow the bank debt be off-loaded from the State debt. Will there be an Oireachtas Inquiry into the banks?

Tonight Vinny has an excellent! panel lined up to bring us up to date on all things financial and, hopefully, it’ll be an all-positive show. Somehow I very much doubt it though.

Heard him on The Right Hook yesterday evening and he was promoting the notion of an actual "Tribunal". Vinnie that is. No. No. No. No. Please not another tribunal.

The only thing a tribunal shows is that our constitution and laws are totally inadequate to deal with these types of situations. The miscreants still walk away free and the bewigged ones trouser millions at our expense.

We may scoff at that trial out in the Pacific, but look at some of our moments and tell me how superior we are.

Mmm have to wonder , just how far off track we would have to be for the troika to issue a public rebuke ( while stern words might be issued in private) ....... To that extent are these events not more about appearance than substance

A financial watchdog that accepts a figure of 2.3% growth as predicted by our DoF mandarins for 2013 in the reaching of our targets, seems to only be concerned with form over substance. I am not much above a dog in the street and even I can and do say, that that figure is BULLSH1T.

I remember when there were many of us who were happy to see the Troika arrive..not because our soveriginity had been destroyed..but . Hoping that they would do the right thing!


Well, little did we realise that this was a way for government to to use the Troika as an excuse for the type of cuts they were making, while leading us to believe it was the Troika making the decisions.... Until the Troika told us...The decision where to make the cuts... Was the governments.... That's when we realised ..We had ben sold out TWICE! By F.F and Then by F.G. and Labour!
