| "PHOTOGRAPHS of alleged prisoner abuse which Barack Obama is attempting to censor include images of rape and sexual abuse, it has emerged. At least one shows an American soldier apparently raping a female prisoner, while another is said to show a male translator raping a male detainee. Further photographs are said to depict sexual assaults with objects including a truncheon, wire and a phosphorescent tube. Another shows a female prisoner having her clothing forcibly removed to expose her breasts." Photos show US soldiers 'raping prisoners' - Americas, World News - Independent.ie Obama have shown that he would have been at home in Christian Brothers with his disgraceful decision to censor photographs of horrific sexual abuse by US soldiers. Some "change". |

| Have the "Islamic extremists" done far worse ? As the first generation of jihadists was substantially US and UK trained in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and as Al Quaeda was a data base of US jihadist assets (according to Robin Cook, Foreign Secretary, UK, deceased) I don't see that you can so easily draw a line between the two. http://machinenation.org/forum/viewt...hp?f=27&t=1895 Obama himself was a parachuted candidate who never fought a contested election until the Presidential election. He was substantially backed financially by Soros and the usual brigade. His first piece of signed legislation was an order closing his personal records from view. He appears to be scripted and was greeted with rousing cheers by the CIA when he visited Langley last month. What is there to be surprised about ? | The fact that those who carried out the crimes were prosecuted is what's important here. Blazoning horrific photos of victims being raped is in nobodys interest - certainly not the victims. This is a load of fake outrage and baloney aimed in the wrong direction. |

When you're reduced to abuse rather than argument and information, your argument is nowhere. You're saying the British Foreign Secretary, Robin Cook was a tin foil hat? I notice that you don't refute CIA and US special forces involvement in training jihadists - there are too many published leaks and sources there for you to get away with it. Machinenation.org • View topic - Is Al Quaeda a Creation of Western Security Services ? Robin Cook wrote a Guardian article headed “Terrorism Cannot be Defeated by Military Means” June 11th 2005. He died suddenly a month later. Cook was the Cabinet Minister who resigned from the Cabinet in protest against the war on Iraq. His resignation speech is the only speech ever to have received a standing ovation in the Houses of Parliament. Cook identified Al Quaeda as “the database” of muslim fundamentalists who were available to work for the CIA. This is part of the article: Osama bin Laden is no more a true representative of Islam than General Mladic, who commanded the Serbian forces, could be held up as an example of Christianity. After all, it is written in the Qur'an that we were made into different peoples not that we might despise each other, but that we might understand each other. Bin Laden was, though, a product of a monumental miscalculation by western security agencies. Throughout the 80s he was armed by the CIA and funded by the Saudis to wage jihad against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. Al-Qaida, literally \"the database\", was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians. Inexplicably, and with disastrous consequences, it never appears to have occurred to Washington that once Russia was out of the way, Bin Laden's organisation would turn its attention to the west. The danger now is that the west's current response to the terrorist threat compounds that original error. So long as the struggle against terrorism is conceived as a war that can be won by military means, it is doomed to fail. | Go see Standard Operating Procedure if you want to see gruesome pictures and videos of this abuse. It is out there and very unpleasant to watch. Suppressing the photos is not the issue. Not prosecuting those responsible is the bigger fault. Considering the guy wrote an autobiography of his youth 13 years ago and a follow up 3 years ago- there is not too much to find out about Obama really. The recent Cheney criticism shows that Obama is not doing exactly what the previous administration wanted. |

| I agree smithchy2. Only those who want to convince themselves of daft conspiracy theories could possibly say there was anything suspicious about his background. His first book couldn't be more open and displays a thoroughly decent man. Wish we had someone like him. |

| imokyrok... It is obvious from the censorship that these photographs are horrific... Secondly it is obvious that Obama is bringing no change... The word in Muslim circles is that if he was truthful about change he would go after the neocon war criminals who started the Iraq war in the first place after lying to the American people... Publication of these photographs would have showed that he actually cares for transparency and justice... He talks about closing down Guan Bay yet at the same time orders 60 million dollars expansion of the notorious Begram Airbase in Afghanistan... Look at the mess in Pakistan where he has continued to order the bombing of civilians using the puppet regime of the country and drones... what change was he talking about? |
