So what was he then; what was he doing there, keeping dodgy company and driving a 'new BMW'?

There are new posters on here claiming to be 'his friends' but there's not much by way of answers out of them.

I grew up watching friends die violent deaths and politicians gloating about it on the TV so I can understand what his friends are feeling. This is all the more reason why it should be incumbent upon them to set the record straight.

Ah no, Tyrone. Many young men were killed by state forces and their proxies from the mid 80s to the mid 90s.

All of them were in their underwear. The shootout looks to have been very one-sided.
Whatever the case is, he was alongside some decidedly dodgy characters. Well dodgy if what is said about their past is true.

It's not normal for a 24 year old lad to take off to Bolivia and have a 'new BMW' within weeks while hanging out with Eastern European hardcases?

You are either incapable or unwilling to clarify what it is he was doing in a region well known for all kinds of dubious activity in the forms of extreme political violence and serious narcotics business.

Very little about this situation appears 'normal' by any reasonable definition.

The Times' David Sharrock has filed a piece based on the bebo site:
Irishman killed after 'plot to assassinate Bolivian president' - Times Online

If the two lads here who know the dead young fellow have a problem with any of it then they should e-mail him and (politely) correct the record before it moves into print later...
