The "most moral army in the world", according to Defence Minister Ehud Barak.

You are wrong to say the IDF have these T-Shirts printed. It seems they are actually printed by a fabric shop in Tel Aviv and an Arab man from jaffa supervises the workers in the shop. Even in the link you posted there is a quote from the IDF saying these T-Shirts "are not in accordance with IDF values and are simply tasteless. This type of humour is unacceptable and should be condemned".

And your comment about low civilian casualties is truly sick L'Chaim. Did you rejoice at all those palestinain children ye murdered?
'Allegations being the operative word.

And no I don't rejoice in any palestinian children or civilians being killed. Unfortunately in war civilians and children get killed. Unfortunately that's just a fact of war. In a war of this magnitude, compared to others around the world, the amount of civilian casualties was very low. Most of the casualties were military targets.

Embassy definition of what constitutes a low rate of civilian casualties has been noted. It is a tad unfortunate that toddlers whose mothers fell into this low casualty ratio were left to starve almost to the point of death by the Israeli military. Still can't be helped, facts of war are facts of war.

Should have realised that it is too early to move to the 'self hating Jews' storyline to undermine the confirmation of wanton slaughter and that the 'it's only allegations' line would be the first line of defence. Still not helpful that the 'allegations' come from your own soldiers.

But the 'allegations' come from a newsletter and third hand reporting. Haaretz who actually ran the story that other newspapers picked up on didn't actually interview any of the soldiers who supposedly made the allegations. At best this story has turned into a manipulable variable and not fact

Aha.

"War", you say.

A handful of dodgy missiles launched over a period of many months compared to the incomparable might of the IDF in a concentrated area over a period of weeks.

And trying to compare THAT to other "wars" around the world.

The reason, L'Chaim, why you can't compare it to other similar "wars" around the world, is because what happened in Gaza was so singularly in a class of its own, is that it defies comparison.

I would imagine you think Lieberman's upcoming appointment is a good idea too.

A recent article by a Jewish-American Washington Post columnist states "it is clear that the world has grown weary of Israel".

Indeed it has.

The reason you don't want to compare this war to other wars is because we are a little bit more humane, even compared to the enlightened Europeans in Afghanistan.

Just a quick question, how many villagers - men women and children were killed in afghanistan last year?, and if not tocompare it to that, lets compare it to the Nato war on Yugoslavia, or the war in Pakistan, or the war in the Jaffna peninsula, or the war in Chechnya, or the war in Iraq.

Do you prefare something from our region? Something like Black September, when Jordan waged war against those same rocket launching terrorists, or to what the Syrians did in El-Hama?

By the way, I think the world should learn what they did, and implement it in European islamofascist areas, where a white non-muslim can not enter, or his life would be in danger!

what postist rubbish one can find in this forum. Time to put things straight with the leftists here, you have no morals, no ideology and no real leadership, you have only one thing in mind, and it sums your existance here, hatred to Israel.

There is an article on the use of Palestinian children as human shields by the Israeli Defence Forces in the Guardian today which comes complete with more pictorial evidence of the practice.

Gaza war crimes investigation: Guardian uncovers evidence of alleged Israeli war crimes in Gaza | World news | guardian.co.uk

It is of course a war crime if proven (that is - of course - a colossal 'if' when even the decision to prosecute is influenced by politics).

Personally if true i think it makes for an especially revolting episode, the sight of armed soldiers hiding behind semi-naked and bound children speaks much of cowardice but also of racial supremacism (racial supremacism eventually when left to fester is translated even to the dehumanisation and mistreatment of children as WW2 showed). A soldier by profession after all aspires to distinguish himself in bravery and daring on the field of battle and this practice is anathema to that spirit (as well as all accepted norms of civilised behabiour). One possible factor in this is the perceived importance of all Israeli life compared to other forms - the necessity to avoid loss of 'precious' Israeli life leading the way to the adoption of tactics such as these.
