That's interesting you bring that up. I take it you've probably read Engdahl's 'Seeds of Destruction'? In it we discover why the supercapitalists were so eager to back the emerging GMO industry, despite the clear and documented dangers associated with their products. Backed by the might of the Rockefeller Foundation, the biotech industry successfully lobbied the Bush-Quayle administration for a "no-regulation" policy with regard to GMO research and products, in spite of the protests and warnings of independent scientists.

We find out quite a lot about biotech giant Monsanto's activities there. Their first major project was the creation and patenting of a recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone, rBGH, which caused cows to produce 30% more milk. What they didn't tell the public or farmers was that it also stimulated the production of a carcinogenic Insulin-like Growth Factor, or that scientists at Vermont discovered that it led to deformed births, inflammations and infections. Farmers themselves discovered that they had to administer much more antibiotics and that the cows were spent after two years. The American public were the guinea pigs for this milk, which was presented as "nature's most perfect food."

Monsanto achieved all this through providing scientists for the FDA, through their connections in the US government, through suppression of studies, manipulation of data, and straightforward bribery, used in an unsuccessful attempt to introduce their product to Canada. The EU also resisted and had a moratorium in place by 1993.

In Scotland after an extensive independent study on GM potatoes by a scientist of impeccable credentials, Dr Pusztai, yielded negative results in the rats tested- specifically smaller hearts, livers and brains, lowered immune system, smaller size and body weight- all hell broke loose. Despite the fact that Dr Pusztai's subsequent appearence on ITV had been cleared by his own state-sponsored institute, Rowett, to present only some of his results, within 48 hours he had lost his job, his papers had been confiscated and placed under lock and key and he had been warned not to speak publicly about his results again- under threat of losing his pension.

Monsanto had rung Bill Clinton who telephoned Blair who phoned Pusztai's boss, Prof Philip James, who was warned to silence Pusztai or risk losing his funding. Afterwards pressure from the homegrown British biotech industry along with Monsanto's British representatives ensured Pusztai's work was rubbished by the British Royal Society. later the Lancet reprinted his study in full despite threats to its editor from the Royal Society.

The political manouverings behind the scenes were uncovered by investigative reporters from the Guardian.

Of course, an exercise of such unscrupulous raw power could not have come from one biotech company standing alone. In fact the Rockefeller Foundation had been behind the GMO revolution from the very start, investing $100 million in research at the outset. They were enthused about the possibility for total control over food production, an aspect of "elite planning for global management", ie, global domination by an elite. This was evidenced by their support for "Terminator" seeds, seeds which had been designed to prevent the germination of harvested seeds as grains. Farmers consequently would be prevented from saving their own seeds for regrowing and be reduced to a state of continual dependence.

The links between Ireland and Nigeria go back a long way. It's not hard to find out. I suspect you don't really want to know.

Sobre, I noticed your signature. This "non-negotiable" demand of the Green party has somehow disappeared!

Are you misreading something, Almanac? The GP's health policy still states: "In Government we would immediately ban water fluoridation."

It was a non-negotiable demand of the Greens before the 2002 general election, but that idea disappeared shortly before the 2007 election, apparently because the Greens saw that they might have to coalesce with FF, who are the only pro-fluoridation party (though the FFers themselves don't understand why).

Isn't it wonderful the way political realities make fluoridation less harmful? Has anyone done scientific research on that phenomenon?

Four legs good, two legs better.

I too am opposed to flouridation. I wonder are you familiar with the background to its introduction and the non-scientists who were behind it?

I certainly am, and am well aware of how it is related to American totalitarianism. All is explained in The Fluoride Deception by Christopher Bryson.

There's much info on the Irish backround in this suppressed report (written by John Gormley). And more on the (il)legalities here.

Some examples of false flag operations courtesy of wikipedia:

Quote:
In 1953, the U.S. and British-orchestrated Operation Ajax used "false-flag" and propaganda operations against the democratically elected leader of Iran, Mohammed Mosaddeq. Information regarding the CIA-sponsored coup d'etat has been largely declassified and is available in the CIA archives.[4]

In 1954, Israel sponsored bombings against US and UK interests in Cairo aiming to cause trouble between Egypt and the West.[5] This operation, later dubbed the Lavon Affair, cost Israeli defense minister Pinhas Lavon his job. The state of Israel (where it is known as "The Unfortunate Affair") finally admitted responsibility in 2005.[6]

The planned, but never executed, 1962 Operation Northwoods plot by the U.S. Department of Defense for a war with Cuba involved scenarios such as hijacking a passenger plane, sinking a U.S. ship, burning crops and blaming such actions on Cuba. It was authored by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, nixed by John F. Kennedy, came to light through the Freedom of Information Act and was publicized by James Bamford.
Here we have clear evidence of both America and Israel committing terrorist acts (involving the murder of civilians in both cases) to advance their political agendas. But perish the thought that they would do so again!
