What would be the advantage to Kenny in this? He would be out-performed by Gilmore. He would also lose the alternative Taoiseach status. FF and Greens would expose splits in the alternative government (whereas they would be on the same hymn sheet or else at all out war). A photo-op of Kenny beside Adams would scare some of the Blueshirt horses.

Dare I say it - Kenny should just be himself, lose the fake gravitas, the never ending sentences to establish authority and the I just had a make-over look and just act like a bloke who sees his role in government as chairman insetad of chief.

Kenny is doing well just look at all his election results,thats what count.Cowen and all his bluster has done nothing progessive since he took over.In fact he just comes across to me as an educated Jackie Healy Rae.

Enda is the most Taoiseachy person in Fine Gael due to the rest of the Front Bench's ability to nauseate or bore.

Enda has potential although he has been slow to realise it. He needs to act his age not his shoe-size. No more attempts at comedy, no more attempts at being hip. No drama. Cool, clam and collected. Ignore the handlers and play us the missus factor.

I dont agree with the aggressive assertion. The electorate don't necessary look for an aggressive leader or are likely to vote for one. Bertie for all his faults could not be described as aggressive but on the other hand Brian Cowen is perceived as dogmatic and aggressive and look how his popularity has fallen on recent times.

I agree. Enda has been the model of consistency in since he was appointed. He has done his own thing and stuck by it. As it happens in a time of turmoil, people look for consistency. FF are more concerned with FG than FF (just look at their website).

I suggested on another thread - closed by DC as being tiresome and neg rep'ed by HBAP -that this quality was his worst aspect. It comes across as utterly cringey and he has not earned the respect which he should as the longest serving TD and leader of a mainstream party. He has come a long way from telling stories about africans with shiny teeth, but why is he not yet respected?
