| In fairness I think Garret Fitzgerald runs him close. Liam Cosgrave and Jack Lynch didn't cover themselves in glory either but probably not as bad. |

| You must be still in nappies.

| Before you can be the worst Taoiseach you have to be Taoiseach. Dukes or Noonan might have made excellent Taoisigh or they could have been dire but we'll never know because they weren't good enough to get the job in the first place. The likelihood grows that we'll one day say the same of Kenny. |

| A good performance from Kenny on 6-1 I thought. He needs to ditch, first, that bloody lop-sided grin thing he does. It just looks weird. And second, his pointy-shouty-outrage routine that we see at LQ's so often. It's just not him or, at least, it's not him except when he's genuinely angry and not when he's just trying to look angry. There was neither tonight, and his more understated style serves him much better. Most of all though, my God, Sharon looks so hot tonight. |

| FF were also lower than their 1997 result after 10 years of bribing the public.

I also note that FG did their best to join the old auction politics themselves. How much would the proposals in your 2002 and 2007 manifestos cost again? Not to mention Richard Bruton's little policy of abolishing stamp duty at the height of the bubble. Real sensible. People in glass houses shouldn't really throw stones. |
