I heard A guy from Tesco's about a year and a half ago that they buy 850 million in Irish agri veg goods,he said it accounted for nearly 75% of veggies produced.

personally i think ned is just doing what every other FF'er is doin at this time .... makin noise .....
can't understand the logic of his latest outburst though.
if tesco are indeed the devil incarnate of he retail world then the simple solution is .... don't give em your money .... then they can screw you. surely a more intelligent measured response for any percieved grievances people have against tesco.
suppose we do kick em out .....what next? aldi? lidl? why not? ned obviously has a bit of a buy-irish irrespective of price buzz goin on. then when they all go do you seriously think super-valu/centra or dunnes will say lets keep our prices down even though we can charge what we like now the competition is gone. dont think so !!!

I don't understand how a large player leaving, simply to be taken over by the others could be healthy, Small traders would only be left competing against the same premises under a different name.
Also i think tesco have given dunns and the others a kick they thoroughly deserved.
FF seem to be trying to jump on the "the difference is were Irish" balls, It never stopped them from ripping people off in the past, and its silly as Tescos are hardly barring Irish people from employment.
Cheap nationalist tub thumping from a man who wants to get back the power to his friends at the expense of the consumers.

Its a dangerous situation when any large retailer has such a massive slice of the domestic market, they can literally pick and choose who to purchase from, and kill off
the opposition instantly. Usually the small farmer.

Tesco have the best of both worlds. Their stores in the North are crammed with Southern shoppers daily, while their stores in border counties, reduce prices slightly,
to attract the shopper in a hurry or the day by day buyer.
