Default Turkish EU Negotiator to address the Forum on Europe

It may interest people to know that Turkey's Chief Negotiator with the European Union will be addressing the Forum on Europe next week.

Quote:
Minister Ali Babacan, is to address the National Forum On Europe next Thursday 2nd November in the Westin Hotel in Dublin at 11 a.m.

Mr Babacan will put the case for Turkey’s membership of the Union. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Mr Babacan’s visit to the Forum is very timely, coming as it does just days before the European Commission is due to publish a report on Turkey’s progress towards joining the EU. In the run up to the publication of the report, on 8th November, intensive diplomatic activity has been taking place between Turkey and the EU over the conditions for continuing accession talks.

Following Mr Babacan’s keynote address, the debate will be opened up to the Forum membership which includes all the political parties and key civil society organisations.

...

Members of the public interested in attending next Thursday’s session are asked to email info@forumoneurope.ie or telephone 01-6705900.
Whilst the main political parties are supportive of Turkish accession, it will be interesting to read the questioning of Mr Babacan on Turkish progress vis a vis the Copenhagen Criteria, and also the views of some of the civil society groupings with regard to Turkish accession. For those unable to attend, the Forum provide complete transcripts of debates about a week or two after events.

Should be able to make it - I have some very pertinent questions to ask our esteemed Turkish friend.

Anyone else fancy making a few points as you can be sure the PC set will be out in Force.

Sorry buddy!

Unless you are a delegate to the NFE then you won't be allowed to ask any questions or make any points.

Finally I got to speak one to one with Mr Ali Barbacan though I had to move fast as the Conference ended to do so.

Just before he finished I moved as near as I could get to the top table and then I walked right up to where he was sitting. I told him I was an Irish citizen and the public had been invited to attend so I would like to make a point to him.

I explained to him that the Irish people were conned over the last EU Expansion and that the Irish would end up a minority if Immigration continued the way it was going. By that time Security was moving in so I had to be quick.

I handed him a List of Quotes from our Politicians from before the last expansion and the rubbish that they predicted about the numbers who would come here. I told him to read it in his Hotel room tonight - (I hope he does) and that fears on Immigration would keep Turkey out of the EU. I finished by saying to him that Turkey was welcome if that issue is sorted out.

I think by that stage some spoilsports were moving and gently pushing me back but I at least I made my point with the Turkish Minister anyway!

I gave the List to Maurice Hayes and to Patricia McKenna as well but didn’t get the chance to distribute anymore.
Well it’s a Start!

Dear Mr. Hayes/Ms. McKenna,

Quote:
In declining order of popularity:

The Western Europeans + English speaking countries incl. White South Africa.

The Chinese + Filipinos
The Indian sub Continent
The East Europeans (not incl. The Roma!)
The Muslims from North Africa + ME
The Black Africans
Everybody else
The Roma
in that order.
Well thats my popularity list, which I think is one most people would share.
Love,

Catalpa

Did you use green ink, perchance?

The only green 'ink' is in your Link pal!

Smiffy have you got some sort of Obsessive Compulsion Disorder
re my list (now over two years old and no longer extant)?

I'm seriously worried abour your mental health - I mean this is like weird by this stage - do you wake up in the middle of night your pyjamas soaked in sweat from Nightmares about Catalpa's 'List'?

If there's anybody on tonight who know and loves Smiffy* can they try and get him help - professional help - before it's too late.

Or is Politics.ie about to witness it's first online Nervous Breakdown?

* Surely there is somebody out there who does?

Catalpa, it's the internet. It's still 'extant'. You can see it above.

I keep posting it for two reasons. (1) Because you whinge and whine and complain whenever some describes you as a racist, describing them as liars, and trying to make a distinction between being racist and being anti-mASsImMMigrATIon, so I think it's worth presenting the evidence that you are actually a racist.

(2) Because I don't like you.

BTW, it's kind of amusing to be described as obsessive by someone who turns every virtually thread he posts on into something about immigration. At least FutureTaoiseach has the excuse that he's got an afflication. You're just unpleasant.
