If it's a job then how come there is such gender discrimination involved in the hiring of those who do it?

You seem to be confusing anti-Catholic vitriol, with anti-Caroline vitriol.

Caroline Simons does not equate to the Catholic Church, no matter what she might hope

I thought pride was a sin? She can't be much of Christian so.

I can almost see an Onion piece writing itself: Candidate hails her working Uterus as best qualification for being Governor!

Yeah well, who is doing the equating?

Your use of a picture of Our Lady as a parody of Ms Simons was particularly offensive and absolutely peurile. Get a life!

For those who say, so what, lots of candidates talk about their families: well, yes, but normally in the context of a long bio, and normally to add a bit of personal color.

Simon's leaflet informs us of just three things about her - she's a solicitor, a governor of a maternity hospital and she's had five kids. The only thing that Simons tells us about her children - twice - is how many she's had. Not even a sentence with details of gender, ages, what they do, what they like; just a faceless number. So I don't think this counts as "personal color".

And if she just wanted to mention she's a mother, why not just say that?

only equaled by fatherhood. Its just a shame that its a position anyone can take up without any requirement to stick to the job description.

I don't personally look to see If a politician has children, I don't think it makes them any more likely to be child friendly (policy wise) If it did we would have the Best schools, playgrounds, pediatric services. and their would be no repeat abusers as they would be in jail for life once caught.
I think a little bit of this sort of background information is nice. But I want to know what they believe in, what they are going to do about it and what experience they have to make me believe they can make it happen.

Gee twice, so you can count. So what if she did? Mooney, and you'll find many other politicians, will be banging on about what great family people they are in the coming weeks. Let 'em at it.

All I am trying to ask is why single out Simons when they're all at it?
