You are just being plain silly. The Lisbon and other EU treaties have given Ireland veto powers. It is up to our government to use them.

We cannot be forced or dragged into any EU defence arrangements against our will. Even if any Irish government agrees to such arrangements it will still have to be put to the people in a referendum because it will fundamentally alter the constitution. See my earlier post.

Again, show us all the line in Lisbon or any other EU treaty that gives the EU power to introduce conscription.

Iraq and Afganistan were/are major wars and the UK and US have not introduced consciption.

mass unemployment and the withdrawal of benefits coupled with huge marketing campaign for EU army could have a similiar effect as conscription

Grumpyjack has also failed miserably to answer my question what penalties would be imposed on Ireland if it failed to progressively improve its military capability as he claims it is obliged to do.
