We cannot be forced or dragged into any EU defence arrangements against our will. Even if any Irish government agrees to such arrangements it will still have to be put to the people in a referendum because it will fundamentally alter the constitution. See my earlier post. You made a stupid point earlier and I shot you down. Get over it. |

Again, show us all the line in Lisbon or any other EU treaty that gives the EU power to introduce conscription. Iraq and Afganistan were/are major wars and the UK and US have not introduced consciption. |

| Sure, sure until they think that they need it. Then the situation will change .Quote:
Do they need it? A "common defence" must mean that all member regions adopt the same measures. Have our retarded politicians given themselves a specific opt-out which would override the EU? I didn't see any on the Amendment to the Constitution. Quote:
No, they're not major wars. They aren't taking enough casualties to need or justify conscription.

I suppose when you cannot find the trees in the wood thats the next step. I have said nothing whatever about conscription or vetos yet you blather on blithly as if I had. You utterly fail to see my point concerning ethos of the EU. [not surprising in somebody now totally lost in the woods] You then regurgitate a silly red herring point that you sidetracked and did not win nor did you shoot me down. Readers of your posts will now have concluded that you are just a narrow minded pedantic slave to convention rattling of atom bombs to kill non existent flies. I am seriously inclined to believe your nothing more than a lower grade public servant lost in filing cabinet undergrowth. Last edited by The Field Marshal; 10th February 2010 at 01:13 AM. |

Your points on the EU were repeatedly disproved during the Lisbon Treaty debate. |

| I prefer to believe that the Air Marshal is a troll, since he almost certainly is. Otherwise there's a seriously unhinged, intellectualy-deficient individual out there somewhere. |

| There's an entire looney bin of them loose on this site! |

You come on the post and attack me for some minor point about fighter jets etc all based on criticisms I made about Enda Kenny! That has nothing to do with this thread. You are clearly a FIne Gael plant & troll attempting to discredit those who point out your leaders serious defects. Both Grumpy Jack and Fusilier are seriously discommoded because the Field Marshal has given now them a little bit of well deserved stick. They are happy to rant away at the Field Marshals imagined deficiencies and ignore the salient point of this thread ie; the emergence of an armed wing to represent the new EU state. Grumpyjack naivly believes that EU treatys are important in this regard and blindly ignores the geopolitical dangers of which he has no comprehension whatever. Indeed Grumpyjack represents a very backward self righteous and uninformed naive section of the population who foolishly think that international treaties are a cast iron protection in times of crisis. Grumpyjack has also failed miserably to answer my question what penalties would be imposed on Ireland if it failed to progressively improve its military capability as he claims it is obliged to do. He rants away about his understanding of the Lisbon Treat [note....only he really understands it ] yet dodges this simple question. When someone disagrees or even calls into question grumpyjacks inflated opinion he turns nasty and abusive. This is because his shallow analysis is exposed and he does not like that. So lads get over it.[As ye are so fond of saying to everyone else] Last edited by The Field Marshal; 10th February 2010 at 10:23 AM. |
