And if this policy change is a success, we will see the billions saved from thief in Irish waters. Why we never developed our marine resources is a mistery for me.

Does France not have Europe's biggest maritime (EEZ) area?
Portugal's is also quite large, taking into account Madeira and the Azores

Because since sometime around the mid 1930's Ireland as a country has suffered from an inferiority complex, this also explains why the country threw caution to the winds in recent times, we feel that we have a lot of catching up to do.

I would suggest that it is time that the Civil Service or in other words the permanent government take this fact onboard. We can achieve as a country, because we have real talent in the Irish population.

As regards our maritime resources they are big, very big and in particular our renewable resources including Algae farming.

This time lets keep control.
