STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Sweden's Pirate Party, striking a chord with voters who want more free content on the Internet, won a seat in the European Parliament, early results showed on Sunday. The Pirate Party captured 7.1 percent of votes in Sweden in the Europe-wide ballot, enough to give it a single seat. | Ho, ho, ho and a barrel of rum! Well done, boys. As this article reports, the Pirate Party has now set its sights on winning at least one seat in the national parliament, the Riksdag. I believe they have a good chance of doing so - and of winning their appeal against their recent convictions in a prosecution that had far too strong an odour of political interference in the judicial process about it.
