It's practically going down the drain for years. Next stop HEA along with other associated bodies.

It's expected that the Redress board will close down at the end of this year as they - Dept of Education will have to close their Redress board unit and transfer any staff to other sectors that's badly needed.

Any other Quango's held by the Dept of Education needs to be abolished as well thus creating savings.
Are you intellectually disabled? There is no apostrophe in the plural.

Oddly enough Peter Sutherland supports this move while then suggests that we should have fewer universities, err...Peter we had four universities (UD, UL, DCU and the NUI) before the universities act in 1997...should we go back to that?

What is odd about this notion of fewer universities is that what is the concrete intention? That we should shut completely one or two insitutions and reduce capacity or move that capacity elsewhere having sold of the properties? Or simply have fewer names but with them spread over the same campuses and capacity?

We could be really radical and go the route of merging all the Dublin colleges into one university, close Maynooth and have all the colleges on the west coast be members of an Atlantic University with campuses for certs and diploma courses where the ITs are, but all full time degrees at the uni sites.
