Picketing of Schools

• All schools with ASTI members will be picketed.
• ASTI Standing Committee members will arrange with branch officers for the distribution of pickets to schools. Click here for contact details for your local branch officers.
• A picket of all second level schools will take place from 8.30am until 10am outside main school entrances. Schools are encouraged to continue picketing after this time, should staff wish to do so.
• A maximum of 6 ASTI staff members of the school will picket at any one time for a period of 15 to 30 minutes (approx).
• The school steward will arrange the picket teams of 6 on a rota basis.

Damn few will actually picket and public support is zero. Can't see them standing around in the rain for people giving them the fingers or throwing eggs at them.

Where will the other hardliners be while their 6 comrades are doing 15-30mins hard time?
Not on the other side of the picket line in the staffroom I hope. And all off home at 10am?
Connolly would be so proud>

No, funnily enough, the other teachers will not be "in the staffroom". To get there they would have to pass the picket. which they are unlikely to do as there is a strike on. Some will go home at 10.am, others will continue the picket as they are encouraged to do.

Connolly would turn in his grave if he knew about some of the stuff posted on P.ie
