I remember, he went a tad over the top on a thread I posted on. His suggestion for the post offices here was a very intelligent one, though.

lol Zanu seems like an irrepressible type of guy

About the idea in question, did'nt we already have one of those and it was called the TSB Trustee Savings Bank ? As far as I remember, Irish Life and Permanent took them over and the deposits transferred to the new entity were 100% guaranteed by the government even post transfer to the IL&P.
