Default Senior Civil Servants Secret Job Cut Plan

This looks like a big story to me. 5 Senior Civil Servants conspired with an OECD group charged with conducting a review of public sector activities to recommend 8,000 job cuts. This is exactly what we need but they were frustrated in their efforts.

What's the bet the senior civil "servants" (aka lazy b@stards who have never done a day's work in their life) will in the end decide to cut 10,000 jobs like Teachers, Nurses, Guards etc and to administer the thousands of redundancies they will need to recruit 2000 more accountants. That gives us the 8000 job cuts.

someone didn't read the article. it specifically stated that the recommendation was to cut the public sector workers from 33,000 to 25,000. this number, as the report states, does not include teachers, nurses, gardai etc it is civil servants and workers in public bodies such as OPW

oh and lay-off the accountants!

I did read the article. Yes it says they don't currently intend to cut front line staff but turkeys, christmas and all that. These b@astard civil servants (too many of whom are accountants) have sucked the country dry for years without a sign of guilt at their waste and inefficiency so I don't think they have had sudden conversion to caring for the public. They will do everything possible to make sure they are at the back of the queue for the P45 and will not hesitate to use Nurses, Teachers, Doctors etc as a Human Shield from job cuts.

it appears here that five senior civil servants were risking their careers and the ire of their colleagues in order to try to bring about a better working public service for the Irish people, so hold of on generalised flinging of spite and bile

Secret group of Civil Servants? Will you do me a favour.

The OECD report is the OECD report.

IF it was altered they would be the first top scream blue murder. They don't give a ******************** how their reports are misconstrued they publish and be damned. They are not beholden to Ireland or any Illuminati group within its Civil Service ranks.

Honest to Christ the Independent has just joined the ranks of the National Enquirer

I expect the OECD will sue the Independent for defamation then...

Have they confirmed that the report was altered at the behest of those who attended the meeting?

Most reports are viewed privately before they are released. There is nothing sinister in that revelation.

Not explicitly, but it is alluded to.

I meant the OECD, not the two-bit hacks employed by the indo.
