| If you were given a trillion euro's tommorrow to reform the economy (Lets say for arguments sake the increased spending doesn't cause increased inflation) what would you do? I would try and make Ireland Carbon neutral by 2010. With that kind of Capital investment you could put a windfarm in every field in Ireland.

| Hmmmm... Sea-based windfarms across Europe, with huge interconnectors, eh?

| I'm speaking figureatively. I thought people on this board didn't think literally (If anything your all quite sarcastic) The investment in wind technology is a tiny fraction of the investment in Nuclear, the policies in relation to this have been a disgrace. Then there is Solar, wave, Hydraulic - the list goes on. There is also a technology called 'Concentrated Solar Power' which would rely on draining the sun power of the Sahara and Arabia and relying on a huge electricity grid covering Europe. All these things could be seriously looked at.

| Unless I'm mistaken, the ESB still do not allow anyone to feed electricity back into the grid ( make your meter go backwards). It is one of the few organisations that make energy saving prohibitive, as everyone would have to have the means not to oversupply their property. I've seen the set-up and it is ridiculous, besides wasting money. |

| Id go with major overhaul of the education system. teacher pay rises coupled with an extension of the school year to 10 and a half months of the year and a overhaul of the leaving to make it more focused on what a person will later study and also make the driving test a school subject
