If a right wing neo-liberalist party cannot hold onto a right wing economist / TD..there is very little hope for them in opposing the right wing neo-liberalist party in power that they face ! Someone save us !!!

Why did he run in the first place if he couldn't hack it? That's the problem with parties bringing in 'celebrities' and not people who have worked their way up through the ranks through political activism and council seats. What did he expect? That we would all bow to his superior knowledge? Like we didn't already know we were f***ed?

If he seriously couldn't hack FG any longer, then why didn't he leave the party but keep his Dail seat? Methinks the pink shirt is going mouldy in the wardrobe from lack of airing - not as glamorous as you thought George?

Also, I object to his returning to RTE. I object to paying such high licence fees for the massive salaries enjoyed by some RTE staff, so if some of those massive salaried jobs are now reduced by natural wastage , then why re-employ them at the same rates of pay? RTE should be going for younger, cheaper economic correspondents.

Does this mean that my money (via t.v license) is going to pay his wage again (RTE)?

So I will now pay his wage, the wage of the current economics guy on RTE and the wage of whoever wins the Dail seat?

Outside of the world of abstract economics, George Lee couldn't lead a successful search for his own arse.

He couldn't lead it, but if he rolled out a few more decent names then a Party could gather momentum.

What's the point of another party? We have enough parties already. The problem is that none of them will do what it says on the tin.

Default If George is serious about his economic crusade he will start a new party

If George is serious about his economic crusade he will start a new party. If he is not he will go back to journalism.

He will need policies if he starts a new party.
