| That leaflet is getting a good reaction and should have covered most of the constituency by now. Jim is getting a positive reaction despite to ongoing bad news but people realise they need good people like jim in the Council. However it will be tight. |

| Wasn't Jim O'callaghan barrister for Bertie in the Mahon tribunal? Don't barristers have to withdraw when they realise their client is lying? (like Nigerian Pamela's legal team had to when they learnt of the forged documents) or does Jim believe bertie? Either way if Jim was in my constituency I wouldn't be rushing to vote for him. |

| [QUOTE Hi Dermot, you spoke of 'new ideas' etc - they haven't exactly caught on, have they ? I haven't heard a whisper (except your own) about them - in what way, do they differ from Old (DSE) Labour's ideas ? If recent national polls hold up - Labour and SinnFein will hold power after the Locals in Dublin - will your ideas be appealing to Sinn Fein ?[/QUOTE] Let me put it this way I am happy that many ideas I have initially raised are more and more coming into the mainstream. I expect many of the ideas I have been campaigning for on Local Government Reform will be in the new White Paper to be published soon. I was the first to push for the 20% Social and Affordable Housing scheme as a member of the Dublin Docklands Council. It is now mainstream. I have been campaigning for years for a proper Dublin Transportation Authority. We are now on the verge of getting a DTA. The next campaign is to get a proper one. On youth facilities, community development and much more I can point to solid deliveries right across DSE and hope to go on so delivering. |

Labour will seek to implement our policies on DCC as eleswhere. If people want to support that - great. Personally and everything I have heard from the Party Leader we are not advocating a partnership with SF. |

| Your leader also advocates the removal of Fianna Fáil from office. That doesn't seem to deter you and your colleagues from holding hands with them on Dublin City Council though, does it? |

Personally I hope that we can agree a more substantial policy agreement with like minded Parties/Independents on the next Council as well as one on key positions etc. |
