I hope the Labour leadership plays fair in the ward, they pulled a fast one in Lisbon referendum by giving Cllr Lacey miniscule posters with illegible red writing all hiden away under trees whereas Cllrs Freehill and Quinn got the full size plum positioned posters.

I thought McCartan is running in SEIC- where his base is (Ringsend/Baggot Street)- and that if O'Callaghan runs he would run in SEIC where his base is (SCR) ?

Revery- is there any truth to the rumour that your man, Jim, is considering packing it in after his failed Senate bid, failed Local Election Bid, failed Dail bid and failed Local election co-option?

Not to mention his failed bids on behalf of various Ahern surrogates at the Mahon Tribunal

Well for what it's worth (which is nothing, truth be told) here would be my prediction, with order of election:

1) O'Callaghan (FF)
2) Quinn (Labour)
3) Wynne (FG)
4) Wheeler (Green)
5) Lacey (Labour)
6) Donnelly (FF)

When you adjust for the new boundaries and compare with the 2004 election, Fine Gael have about 2.3 quotas in Pembroke-Rathmines.

Are you seriously suggesting that their second candidate (presumably Cllr. Paddy McCartan) will not even be in the running? It would take a monumental collapse in their vote for this to happen

bobby69, jim knows that elections are difficult to win and he has shown he is not a fair weather politico. he is here for the long haul and is committed to working on behalf of the community in which he lives. i have respect for him for not walking away like many others would do and i think the public will respect him for not walking away and they will recognise and reward his persistence.

FG must be in pole position to get get two seats.

Glad to see Cllr is not worried by anybody as i cant see Freehill or Quinn being ahead of you

Cllr must be fav to head poll

i do think labour will battle it out for 6th seat and it will be frehill and she will lose out to the greens for the last seat

Hard to write donnelly off but i think if Jim gets nod he will come out in front of ff list

This Cllr is not anticipating heading the poll or anything like it. He will be very happy to hold a seat - any one of the six.

He certainly does, Revery, he certainly does.

I'm assuming McCartan will run in SEIC, ensuring the survival of both FG councillors.
