Who are the greens running? I understood it would be meade but he hasnt shown yet in the constituency. Wynne and McCartan are beavering away and things must look good for them. with the wind behind them labour might just take 3 but it will be close and the wind might be behind them. that would leave ff without a seat. that is why ff need to get their local election strategy right from the start. Jim o'c is what they need in order to appeal to the other party voters and nick votes off them. ff also need a woman in pembroke-rathmines and michael donnelly is automatic so does this mean ff run 4 in a six seater which would be two on each side of the constituency. ff will be as interesting as the labour cat fight

I understand the Green Selection Convention is on in two weeks and that it is between Clare Wheeler and the Ryan Meade. Personally i do not see Fg getting two seats - as to which one would be ahead I have no fixed view yet except to say that FG voters in DSE seem to favour women FG candidates. I think FF should just run the three mentioned but they might also add a woman. Labour will select three in Pembroke-Rathmines and two in SEIC. Interestingly Garret attended the public meeting in Sandymount but surprisingly did not speak.

There has certainly been a ramping up of activity in the ward in recent weeks, leaflets galore, personal posters for Lisbon left up after the deadline for taking them down has passed, (would anyone seriously have voted yes because cllr Paddy MacCartan said so) public meetings called on various specious pretexts and bizarrely letters to the paper from candidates congratulating RTE on their Lisbon coverage, literally anything to raise their profile. What will it be like by next June?

I am happy to say that my activity has stayed the same. I continue to attend Public meetings as requested. I quite regularly write letters to the papers, I hope all my posters are down and i hope to retain my seat next June.

i heard there was a good number at that meeting, cllr. i dont think cllr has much to worry about from tubridy. He likes to show up and throw a few shapes but isnt great on the issues(bit like his cousin) He's good to show up at high profile gigs but isnt too keen on the hard work. I thought meade was for pembroke-rathmines and fallon for inner city. i would have said paddy mcCartan would do very well. He's well liked and works hard

Revery your posting could be read a number of ways. If I have nothing to fear from young Tubridy. Who do I have to worry about? Yes there was a good few people at the meeting. Seven Councillors going into the elections. A couple of very ambitious newbies and six seats. What will happen in your opinion? |
