Default Pembroke Local Election Predictions

Now, I know we're two years away from an election, and we don't even know what the geography will be, but anyone willing to make a prediction on the 2009 Local Election in Pembroke?

Mine (presuming it stays the same geography & keeps 3 seats):

Lacey (LAB)
Hederman (IND by then)
McCartan (FG) & ??? (FF) fighting for the last seat

There is potential for change here, though. The Ward is over represented/underpopulated according to a recent City Manager's report, so we could see changes. I've heard a suggestion that Clonskeagh/Milltown might be moved into Rathmines, and Ringsend given to Pembroke. We'll have to wait and see.

This is disturbingly early to be making predictions, but do you have a link to the City Manager's report you refer to?

Is there likely to be many changes to local election areas?

The whole fun is that it's two years out, and you'll come back to this in two years' time wondering how the hell we came so far!
Two years ago, who would have predicted McDowell losing his seat or FG and FF fighting it out to top the poll? These things appear normal in hindsight, but not in advance.

I think it's the Greens time to retake a seat here

In a three seater? From Government? That would be a difficult one.

Please lads, stop this!!! There's a time to worry about the local elections - and it definitively isn't now.

Actually from my reading of his post Krazy is predicting that the current PD Councillor will retain her seat. Of course I believe that it is my own seat that is in real danger.

"(IND by then)" he just loves predicting our demise. Shame he's always going to be wrong.

Hederman will stay in the PDs. Wishful thinking from some ppl. She should run for the party in DSE in 2012.
