This "study" estimates that there are only 2000 same sex couples in Ireland.

While I accept the media would have one believe that there are millions of homosexuals in Ireland, an estimate of 2000 couples seems very low.

I expect there are many more.

Perhaps a newer phenomenon but not all that surprising. In Ireland they has always been a reluctance to analyse the social and cultural factors which encourage people to emigrate. For instance, it was not an accident of fate that, by the end of the 1980s, a large population of Irish HIV/AIDS sufferers were resident in London.

We need more gay people in high profile roles.

Gay people are still badly treated in Ireland-and it is time that we changed all that.

I say stick em all on an Island and we'll observe how many generations their "culture" lasts. They claim oppression by the very society that they require to continue to exist in. Vampires
