They beat the Evening Herald to it. I think there's some in-house challenge to see which paper can come out with the most outrageous anti-Irish republican story (remember the day before the last election when the Herald claimed Esther Uzell-Rafferty was booted out of Kevin St. flats by teenagers from Sinn Fein)? Complete and utter bollox as acknowledged by Esther herself. The papers get away with that type of shyte.

Check out Regret the Error: Mistakes Happen for just how wrong newspapers worldwide can be. A search should find the Liam Lawlor/prostitute story.

But O'Toole writes for The Star. I know him. He's never written for the Herald. Bracken hasn't broken much, but I do like her stuff.

Get it right, Mr Victim, it's the Leitrim Man of the Year Award: or do you have as much contempt for country folk as you do for the truth? And yes, I'd say Paul Williams does require significant Garda protection for public appearances such as this. But that's not a life I'd choose. Salman Rushdie quickly tired of it. But then Williams isn't a pretentious arty farty type and is, thank God, a far gutsier character than the lamentable Rushdie.

Phinny-poos, you are the most inaccurate, vox populi-driven, uneducated, anecdotal-driven moron we have seen on this site since The Analyser (no offense Tommy O'Brien). Every thread you have started in the last couple of days has highlighted your complete lack of respect for fellow posters - throwing out unsourced information, your mind-numbing Joe Duffy-isation of every topic is embarrassing. You're either a teenager or a very poorly informed adult. Read my signature and see just how silly your posts are. I really don't know whether to pour scorn on you or feel sorry for you. You even stated that Merle has no sense of humour when it comes to Northern Ireland issues!

I think you'd be doing everyone (and particularly yourself) a favour if you just shut up, observed others' posts and then contributed in a thoughtful and considered manner.

Really? Who? I think you're wrong. Williams is the only one I'm aware of.

What a bleedin' drama queen - and to think this bozo counsels abuse victims. Jesus wept.
