The examples you give above are about another jurisdiction. Ireland simply decriminalised homosexual acts and created a common age of consent of 17 in doing so.

Well I would support rape, involving an adult and a minor, such being the case of paedophillia should carry a heavier sentence. That's why I chose to differentiate, but yes both are essentially the same.
