(PS don't support Libertas and would not vote for them but your post is petty, childish and churlish)
I agree with your opinion about my post but David has to learn a political lesson .

I did start a thread on the topic but it was removed pending a discussion with David . Whats the bets my thread will not be allowed and I will be banned .

Power is everything and David has the power on P.ie but he does not have ultimate power .

Will loyalty to FF overcome his undoubted unwillingness to go down with a sinking ship?

Probably.

But it will be hard for Mara to communicate a message that doesn't exist.

I happen to know PJ personally, though not particularly well (friend of friend) and meet him fairly regularly (SOCIALLY I MIGHT ADD).

He is in perfect health and is walking out with a very nice lady indeed. I really don't know where the health issue came into it. He is smoking away like a trouper, as usual, and having his hot whiskies and gin & tonics. Traveling the world in his guise as ADC to Denis O'Brien, and generally enjoying life.

Now, being a little presumptive I know, but I doubt if anyone else here, bar maybe one or two, has even EVER met the man. I am no FF'r (much to my families regret), I would go as far as to say that I HATE the f*****s, but I have to say that he is an absolute gentleman. Absolute. In the true meaning of the word. Affable, honest, (you should hear some of the CJH stories he tells), and generous to a fault. He has a fantastic sense of humor and an ability to laugh at himself. He is the archetypical strategist and there is NONE able to meet his standard today.

From what I can gather he was not particularly close to Bertie (though Mara is also from Bertie's parish), has a warmer relationship with Cowen, and really is a totally loyal FF'r. I would imagine if he does return it will be to assist FF out of the mess they are presently in.

Oh, and he wears the coolest socks ever!!

I like coerlli's descripton. Probably the most honest we'll get on the site. Btw, are his socks duchamp? If so I like him more.

Just how good is Mara though? I'm not very familar with his work but he seems to be seen as a strong force.

The realisation of the impending thrashing of your party has left you a little bit emotional?
Maybe PJ can give you some tips on rehabiltation.

It was dignified, restrained and effective.Doesn't Bertie deserve the same scorn. No shouting, no abuse, no agression just a relentless slow clap whenever he speaks in public would be enough to end that man's presidential fantasy.
If you agree copy the signature in to yours and lets get the whole country slow clapping Bertie.

As i understand it, the current government press secretary is an officer in the army. While not questioning HIS professionalism in any way, is it not time to have a more politically proven person in that role, provided of course there is something worthwhile to spin? The drift approach has failed - maybe decisive leadership should be tried?

Bollocks!
He's a spoofer but in Irish politics, he has a place. In a normal country he'd be shown the door pronto because he has no positive skill set.

"Astute political brain"?? In a f...ing brainless political system, it probably is seen as an advantage to have a brain like PJs.

And to demonstrate how f...ing brainless the Irish political system is repeat the following 50 times to yourself

"Tanaiste Mary Coughlan"

He did however, much to my annoyance, win three general elections for FF as director. I doubt you would find anyone else about the political spectrum with that ability.

BTW, I think your Mary Coughlan cameo is brilliant!!

Have to agree with you totally, PJ is an out and out spoofer from whom Bertie took lessons, when PJ was in the kitchen business for himself he was less than useless.

In the interim he has picked up a couple of Corporate communication jobs, presently with Denis O'Brien, is paid handsomely but it is for his connections to the Govt in reality, the fact he can pick up a phone to Biffo is what he is paid for..

Vincent Browne put him in the corner when PJ tried to quieten him at Bertie's press conference and there he should remain.

As for Coughlan, words escape me, I would crack up repeating her name 50 times.
